2010 VBS Appreciation Luncheon 8-29-10
On August 29, 2010 following the worship service, a special luncheon was held to thank all the volunteers who participated in the 2010 VBS Summer Bible School from June 25-28th.

2010 Youth Beach Party 8-26-10
On Thursday, August 26, 2010 members of the church along with some friends joined together for a fun filled day at Paradise Cove Beach in Santa Monica, CA. The youth participated in a castle construction in the sand and surfing in the waves. The group had a fellowship luncheon together before heading home at 4 pm.

2010 Farewell to Matt Gerhard, Organist 7-25-10 (Part 1)
On July 25, 2010, friends and church leadership joined together to say farewell to Matt Gerhard's for his faithful 2 years of service to the church as organist as he prepares to accept a new calling to lead the music ministry at Zion United Methodist Church in Kokomo, Indiana. God Bless you Matt.

2010 Carnival Block Party 7-24-10
On July 24, 2010, the church opened up the parking lot for 2 hours of fun for the neighhood
to come and enjoy a funfilled evening of hamburgers/hotdogs, inflatable jumper, face painting and a various assortment of games for the children to play and win prizes. What an exciting time it was...

2010 Isabella Smith Dedication 6-13-10
On June 13, 2010, Pastor Caroline Smith along with her husband Rev. Josh Smith invited family and friends to witness the dedication unto the Lord, their beautiful daughter "Isabella Grace Smith". This is the couple's first child and is only 5 months old. What a tremendous blessing unto GOD.

2010 Annual Meeting (ABC-LA) 4-30-10 & May 1, 2010
On April 30 and May 1, 2010, First Baptist Church of Glendale, CA opened its doors to host the 104th Annual Meeting of the American Baptist Churches of Los Angeles and the 115th Annual Meeting of the American Baptist Congregations of the Southwest and Hawaii. Dr. Gordon MacDonald was the guest speaker and brought to everyone the message: "Power in Clay Jars", 2 Cor. 4:7-10. It was truly an event filled with o much musical talent, singing, various biblical scriptures, prayer time and fellowship with many brothers and sisters in Christ from all over the Southwest and Hawaii. Wow, what a spiritual filled experience engulfed the facility.

2010 Holy Week: "Easter Sunday" 4-4-10
CHRIST IS RISEN!
On April 4, 2010, the church extended a warm welcome to everyone in celebration of Easter ... "He's Alive" !!
The worship was filled with joy and happiness as members and friends alike joined together for an hour filled with wonderful music and a great message. There was even a special solo praise with Cello from Ruslan Birukov.

2010 Holy Week: Sanctuary Choir & Orchestra Concert 4-2-10 (Part 3)
On the evening of April 2, 2010, FBC Glendale opened its doors to everyone for a concert featuring the Sanctuary Choir & Orchestra. A glorious time of music rejoicing and fellowship time through the words of music. Fantastic event!

2010 Holy Week: Community Good Friday Service 4-2-10 (Part 2)
On April 2, 2010, various religious leaders, members and guest came together for a 12:00 pm "Community Good Friday Service" at FBC Glendale. It was an inspiration time for different
biblical scriptures to be read by the relious leaders themselves. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Richard Garner, First United Methodist Church of Glendale.

2010 Holy Week: "Journey to the Cross" 4-1-10 (Part 1)
On the evening of April 1, 2010, Pastor Updike & Pastor Smith narrated Jesus' "Journey to the Cross". It was an spiritual filled night with singing, experiencing nailing of the cross, and then finally partaking of the "Bread of the Lord" and "Cup of the Lord".

2010 Festival of Missions 3-21-10 Part 4
On Sunday, March 21, 2010 the Festival of Missions series was concluded by our guest preacher Nora Kalkman, Missionary from the Czech Republic who shared about the gospel taking place in the Europe. What an inspirational time of fellowship and to learn what the Christians are doing for God's kingdom in that area.

2010 Festival of Missions 3-14-10 (Fair) Part 3
Following the worship service on March 14, 2010, mission participants, members and friends alike joined together for an noontime luncheon while visiting each missionary booth in the gymnasium to understand how each organization is reaching the world through the mission of God's work. It was truly a wonderful event that took place.

2010 Festival of Missions 3-14-10 (Part 2)
On Sunday, March 14, 2010, the worship service was another interesting time of fellowship. Our guest preacher, Rev. Eddie Cruz, ABC-USA's National Ministries delivered a spiritual filled message "With Willing Hands" for everyone to be inspired by the Good News. During the service, the Brazil Youth Worship Band led the congregational singing and even provided several solo songs via live transmission from Brazil. In addition, local missionaries were introduced as particpants for the Mission Fair following the service.

2010 Festival of Missions 3-10-10 (Part 1)
On March 10, 2010, the Festival of Missions began its series of events with "Family Promise", a national nonprofit organization that is committed to helping homeless families find housing and employment. It was an exciting time for members and friends alike to fellowship and learn how Family Promise provides help and support to those who are less fortunate. What a great event to start the mission festivities.
